Bio

Netanel Newberger is a Partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, where he represents employers in a diverse field of labor and employment matters.  He has twenty years of experience in both traditional labor law and employment counseling and litigation.

Netanel began his career in traditional labor law, representing unions and employees in grievances and arbitrations and in litigation in federal and state court.  Prior to joining our firm, he worked for 17 years in a Long Island based boutique firm, representing employers in disputes in state and federal court, including discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and wage and hour claims.  Netanel also provided counseling on day to day issues, such as employee hiring, discipline and termination, paid and unpaid leaves of absence, and he drafted employee handbooks, hiring and severance agreements.

Netanel has experience with negotiating collective bargaining agreements and responding to unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board.  He has successfully represented companies at administrative hearings, including at the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York State Department of Labor and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, and he has argued appeals before the New York State Appellate Division, First and Second Judicial Departments.  He has also led numerous mediations and settlement conferences.

Netanel received his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude, from Yeshiva University.

Netanel is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.  He is also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.  He enjoys history, traveling and movies.
