Annually, Long Island Business News partners with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm that administers employee engagement and satisfaction surveys, to analyze workplaces in the Long Island area. This independent survey and awards program was designed to recognize Long Island’s top employers across both large and small companies. To be considered for participation, companies had to disclose their median and average starting salaries, as well information on benefits. Companies do not need to be headquartered locally, but they must have a presence in the Long Island area.
An independent selection committee scores companies based on the information provided in the survey. The committee then reviews this list and weighs in intangible benefits such as team-building and morale-boosting efforts, community service and other office activities before making final selections. This year, 26 companies received the honor of being named one of the 2023 Best Places to Work on Long Island.
