Gastwirth, Partner in the firm’s Litigation, Labor & Employment, Construction and Social Media, Software & Privacy practice groups has been named a Fellow of The College of Commercial Arbitrators, an invitation-only society that recognizes the top arbitrators from across the country and internationally. Loretta will join an elite group of arbitrators who have the professional training, judgment and years of experience to undertake the most complex and difficult commercial arbitration assignments.
Loretta is well known for her work in mediation and arbitration – i.e., alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She serves as an arbitrator and mediator on the prestigious Commercial, Construction and Employment panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the ICDR (the AAA’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution). Loretta is also a Mediator for the New York State Supreme Court, New York, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Queens County Commercial Divisions, and the Nassau County Bar Association Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. Loretta has served as an arbitrator or mediator in nearly 200 cases including acting as a Chairperson of a number of three member panels and serving as an emergency arbitrator.
The College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA) provides a meaningful contribution to the profession, the public, the legal sector, and to the businesses that implement commercial arbitration as a means of dispute resolution. Fellowship in CCA is by invitation of the Board. Membership criteria include substantial experience as a commercial arbitrator, high ethical standards, and high regard in the field among academics, other neutrals, and counsel.
