Bio

Chenyun (Lucie) Ma is an Associate in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Department, where she represents employers in a wide range of employment-related matters. Her practice includes employment litigation involving wage and hour disputes, discrimination and retaliation claims, and class and collective actions. Lucie also assists employers with employment counseling, workplace investigations, and compliance matters. She represents employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, and assists with mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute-resolution proceedings.

Prior to joining the Firm, Lucie practiced at a labor and employment boutique, where she handled complex wage-and-hour and employment disputes in federal and state courts. Her experience includes class and collective actions, as well as discrimination and retaliation matters.

Previously, Lucie practiced at a leading law firm in Shanghai, where she represented corporate clients, including Fortune 500 companies, in employment disputes and compliance matters, intellectual property litigation and portfolio management, and cross-border disputes. She also previously interned at Baker McKenzie.

Lucie received her LL.M., with Honors, from Columbia Law School and her Juris Master from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She received her Bachelor of Public Administration from Zhejiang University of Technology, where she graduated as valedictorian.

Lucie is an active member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York. She is admitted to practice in New York State and before the S.D.N.Y. and E.D.N.Y. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
